Did you know Craigslist’s founder is a Case Western alumni? Craig Newmark graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.

Edward Morley determined the atomic weight of oxygen in a laboratory at Case Western Reserve University.

Albert A. Michelson, the Nobel Prize winner in Physics in 1907, taught physics at the Case School of Applied Science, where many buildings are now named after him. Since Michelson, Case Western Reserve University’s faculty and alumni have earned another 11 Nobel Prizes in sciences.

It is a tradition at Case Western Reserve that each undergraduate who turns 21 receives a birthday greeting from the University President and the Vice President for Student Affairs. In addition to a birthday greeting featuring beatiful campus photography and a reminder to celebrate safely, students also receive a gift certificate for two to the Michelson & Morely restaurant in the Tinkham Veale University Center.
